Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:
Except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. Psalm 127:1
Yad : (Strong's #3027) an open hand indicating power, means, direction, etc. It is used in a great
variety of applications, both literal and figurative. It is the root of Yadah (Strong's #3034) which means to use the hands especially in worship or praise. Also Yada (Strong's #3045 & 3047) which
means to know or known. Those who don't "know" (yada) The Lords ways and walk in them will not enter into His rest (psalm 95:10-11). This speaks of a deep and close personal
"knowing" since it is the same word used in Genesis 4:1; "And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she concieved and bare Caine". It is a word therefore used in contexts of knowing the power and ways of The Lord, being in close personal fellowship with Him, and worshiping and praising Him.
Mischan or also Mishkan (Strong's #4908) from shakan (Strong's #7931) A residence or dwelling place. Usually
associated with the Temple and especially with the Tabernacle in the wilderness, where God dwells, The Holy of Holies.
So the name yad mischan speaks to the hope that this web site and all we do is a work done in the
strength of, and by the leading of the Lord, that it glorifies and praises Him, and helps us all get closer to the place where He dwells so that we can sit at his feet and know Him. .
